Dear Friends,It is a historical moment for my country, which will exercise the mandate of the Presidency for the first time, and I would like to assure You that the Republic of Moldova assumed this Presidency with great pride and full responsibility.

The Republic of Moldova will have the responsible task of implementing the structural changes outlined in the Decisions of the Summit, setting the base for the future organizational framework of the CEI. I am aware that it will not be easy, but, at the same time, I assure this challenge, this exam for our country will be successfully completed. We have all necessary capacities in order to exercise this mandate in a serious and responsible manner.

At the same time, we will provide the Member States with all necessary mechanisms for the CEI Decisions on Repositioning implementation, through the organization of the political and sector meetings.

In achieving this objective we count very much on the support of the Member States and the support of the CEI Secretariat as well as of the Director General.

We express our belief that joining our efforts and desires we will achieve the proposed objectives, for a further development of our region.
