Meeting of the SEECP Committee of Political Directors

On 26 September 2008, in Chisinau, under the Moldovan Presidency to the South-east European Cooperation Process (SEECP), took place the Meeting of the Political Directors of the SEECP.

During the Meeting were discussed a various number of relevant issues on political developments in the South-east European region, were presented the priorities and the calendar of events of the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova to the SEECP, as well the progresses accomplished in regional cooperation process and in strengthening of the cooperation of the SEECP in relation with Regional Cooperation Process (RCC).

At the same time, with this occasion, for the first time was organized the Joint Meeting of the SEECP Committee of Political Directors and of the Directors responsible for EU Affaires of the SEECP participating states. In this context, the participants of the meeting put into discussions the promotion of the regional approach in the South-eastern Europe dedicated to the consolidation of sectorial cooperation with the EU, European Agenda for the South-east Europe, as well as the EU mechanisms of assistance for the SEECP states.

The mentioned meetings were attended by the representatives of the SEECP Member States: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and the Republic of Moldova, as well as by the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council, representatives of Presidency of France to the EU, upcoming Presidency of the Czech Republic to the EU Presidency to EU and European Commission.
